What is AVID?
AVID is a course that prepares high school students to succeed and be admitted to a four-year college or university (www.avid.org)

Who is AVID for?
AVID is designed for students who are individually determined to excel in their education, especially those "in the middle" with grades between As and Cs.

Why should I apply to be accepted to an AVID class?

  • Meet and work with other driven and motivated students eager to go to 4-year universities.
  • AVID graduates nationwide complete college at a higher rate than non-AVID students.
  • Form strong, supportive relationships with your AVID classmates and teachers.
  • 80% of 2018 Aragon AVID graduates took at least one Advanced Placement class.
  • Since 2013 95% of our AVID Seniors have been accepted to four-year universities.
  • Aragon AVID students have received over $1 million in scholarships and grants.

  • Are motivated and driven to meet their personal & academic goals.
  • Have a superior work ethic.
  • Have between a 2.5 and 3.5 GPA.
  • Have great attendance.
  • Are willing to take notes in their core academic classes.
  • Are in an underrepresented group and/or will be the first in their family to attend college.
