Required Physical Education Courses
PHYSICAL EDUCATION 1
Year Course (Grade 9)
This course is a freshman orientation to physical education, physical fitness, and health. It is an introduction to basic skills and movement by participation and instruction in the following activities: swimming, dance, duel and individual sports, and physical fitness. All students must pass this course in order to graduate. This class consists of two fitness days a week, two activity days a week, and one make-up day every week. This course meets the district graduation requirement for freshman physical education.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION 2
Year Course (Grade 10+)
This course is a continuation of the basic skill and movement by participation and instruction in the following activities: swimming, combatives, team sports, and physical fitness. This class will include two fitness days a week, two activity days a week, and one make-up day every week. This course meets the district graduation requirement for physical education.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION 3
Year or Semester Course (Grades 11-12)
This course is for anyone who failed PE 1 and/or PE 2. It is a continuation of the basic skill and movement by participation and instruction in the following activities: soccer, weight training, swimming, team sports, and physical fitness. This course meets the district graduation requirement for physical education.
