March 13, 2023
Good evening, Aragon Families!
Did you know??
Today is the three-year anniversary of the SMUHSD COVID Shutdown - March 13, 2020. We sent students home with as much tech as we could and told them to keep checking their canvas accounts for asynchronous assignments. We thought we’d be back on campus within a few weeks and return to school as usual. So happy that, three years later, school feels a lot closer to normal!
March Madness is Here Already (and I’m not talking about Basketball…)
March is traditionally a difficult month for educators and students: it’s been a while since we’ve had a substantial break, we’re staring at the upcoming testing season as it starts to appear on the calendar horizon, and that’s followed quickly by finals, awards ceremonies, graduation, and then (wait for it!) summer vacation. Please allow for a little more grace with your students, a little more time for self-care and sleep, and, if you're up for it, take a moment to thank a teacher or staff member for their work with your student. A little note of gratitude goes SO FAR in supporting our staffulty! Luckily, we’ll find each other on the other side of Spring Break before you know it :)
Schedule Update:
We have NO substantive bell schedule updates over the next two weeks. We WILL use FlexTime this coming Friday to participate in our semi-annual LIPDUB activity! For families new to the Lip Dub lingo, this is a campus-wide lipsync celebrating everything that makes Aragon special: students, organizations, teachers, staff, and more! Check out previous Aragon Lip Dubs here: 2016 * 2018 * 2020
