Mr. Tom Flavin

Basketball Player | Class of 2010

A 1973 graduate of Aragon, Tom was 1st team All-League, Team Most Valuable Player, and All-County his junior and senior years. As a senior he was selected 1st team All-C.C.S. Tom went on to play college basketball at Cal Poly and U.C. Santa Barbara. His Cal Poly team won the league championship and as a senior at U.C. Santa Barbara, Tom led his team in rebounding. Tom then played 10 years of professional basketball in Australia.

Mr. Steve Fletcher

Basketball and Baseball | Class of 2012

A 1967 graduate of Aragon, Steve made his most significant mark on the basketball court. In C & D basketball, Steve led the league in scoring his sophomore season and was 1st team All-League. Steve was also team Most Valuable Player and team captain for that season. In Varsity Basketball, Steve was 1st team All-League and team Most Valuable Player in both his junior and senior seasons. He also served as team captain his senior year and was All-County. In baseball, Steve was an infielder and went his entire junior season without making an error. His senior year, Steve was team captain, Most Valuable Player and All-League. After playing one season at U.C. Santa Barbara, Steve transferred to U.C. Davis where he played 3 seasons of varsity basketball. While there, he earned All-League honors, a Sportsmanship All-League honor and served as team captain. Steve still holds 2 basketball records at U.C. Davis.

Mr. Ron Franklin

Basketball | Class of 2012

A 1980 graduate of Aragon, Ron was a late bloomer who helped his team win the League round-robin title his junior year and the League championship his senior year. Ron was a two- time All League performer and was All-County as a senior. He was part of a guard tandem that is considered amongst the best in the history of San Mate County basketball. Ron was a key contributor for a Skyline College basketball team that was California runner-up in 1981 and California Champion in 1982. Ron became a key figure in the San Mateo community helping, guiding, and coaching countless youths in the North Central neighborhood. His contribution to the youth of San Mateo is rivaled by few and adds to his legacy of being a Hall of Fame human being.

Mr. Jeff Gradinger

Football | Class of 2012

A 1979 graduate of Aragon, Jeff was the first sophomore to start for the Varsity football team at Aragon. As a junior, Jeff earned 1st team All-League and 1st team All-County honors as a defensive back. His senior season, Jeff repeated as a 1st team All-League defensive back and was also selected 1st team All-League quarterback. In addition, he was named the 1st team All-County quarterback. He was named the teams Most Valuable Player and was named to the National Hall of Fame Scholastic Team. At Brown University, Jeff earned 1st team All-Ivy League as a junior and as a senior. In his senior season, he was named team Most Valuable Player and selected as the Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year. The Associated Press placed Jeff on its All-American team after setting a Brown University record with 7 interceptions. Jeff was placed on the Brown 1980's All-Decade team.

Mr. Rich Moss

Wrestling | Class of 2012

A 1983 graduate of Aragon, Rich is the most dominant wrestler in the schools history. A team captain for three years, Rich took 3rd place and 2nd place in the Peninsula Athletic League his freshman and sophomore seasons respectively, and was the league champion both his junior and senior seasons. Rich was also selected as the league most valuable player in 1983. Rich finished 2nd in the Central Coast Section as a junior and then placed at the State meet. To date, he is the only Aragon wrestler to ever place at the State meet. His senior season, Rich became the first wrestler in school history to ever win a section championship. Rich still holds the school record for pins and victories. Representing Aragon, Rich also took 2nd place in the National High School Judo Championships in 1982 & 1983. He also won the National Judo Championship 3 times and finished 5th place at the 1983 World Junior Judo Championship. Rich earned a scholarship for judo and in 1988 was invited to the 1988 Olympic Trials. Later, Rich won the Air Force Judo Championship 4 times and took 4th in the World Military Judo Championship.

Mr. Kenneth Powell

Basketball | Class of 2012

A 1980 graduate of Aragon, Ken was a 3 year starter for the Dons Varsity basketball team. Ken was the catalyst for team that won the League round-robin title his junior year and the League championship his senior year. He was also named team Most Valuable Player two times. Twice, Ken was named 1st team All- League and 1st team All-County. As a senior Ken, was named San Mateo County Player of the Year and 1st Team All-Central Coast Section. He was part of a guard tandem that is considered amongst the best in the history of San Mate County high school basketball. At Skyline College, Ken was a two - time All-Conference performer on a team that was California runner-up in 1981 and California Champion in 1982. His records are still in the top ten in scoring, assists, and rebounding at Skyline. After Skyline, Ken went to play at Seton Hall University in the Big East where is #15 all time for assists per game.
