AP Exam Registration
AP EXAM REGISTRATION OPENS SEPTEMBER 30TH!
The College Board requires students enrolled in an AP course and participating in the AP Exams in May 2026 to register, pay, and commit to taking the exam during the fall semester. To ensure accurate and timely processing of all AP test registrations, the deadline to register and pay for taking AP exams at Aragon High School is October 31st, 2025. After October 31st, student registrations will be assessed a $40.00/exam late fee until December 5th. After December 5th, no student will be allowed to register for any exam.
How to register
Students will need to use and navigate two online systems to register for exams:
-
Step 1: Students will need to register and pay for the exams through www.TotalRegistration.net/AP/053163
-
Step 2: In their Collegeboard account, students will confirm they are taking the exam and use this platform for the online learning tools. Students can access this through myap.collegeboard.org. Students MUST complete both steps in order to register.
The registration directions are outlined in this presentation. [Updated 10/9/25] The presentation also includes information about requesting testing accommodations for students with IEPs/504s and how to request financial assistance.
The registration deadlines are hard deadlines and it is important that all families are aware of them. AP teachers will review the registration process with students, but for more information you can visit the AP section of the CollegeBoard website at https://apcentral.collegeboard.org/.
If you have questions, please reach out to your course teacher or email Assistant Principal Mr. Hartig at ahartig@smuhsd.org.
Non-SMUHSD students: SMUHSD only allows students enrolled in SMUHSD school to take exams at an SMUHSD site. See the district's policies around taking AP exams here.
For students with IEPs and 504s: In order to apply to take your AP exams with accommodations, you must notify your case manager (students with IEPs) or counselor (students with 504s) by January 24th, 2026, so they can submit your request to the College Board. Students who request accommodations after that date may not be eligible to take their exams with accommodations.
