Welcome
Aragon's Student Leadership Program
Leadership:
(Prerequisite: Application and interview needed to enroll.)
The leadership program enables students to cultivate meaningful positive high school memories for their peers. Leadership students work to create fun, spirited, equitable and inclusive experiences. Students help to support the culture of Aragon via lunchtime events, hallway bulletin boards, cultural and environmental events, as well as sports equity. Students are encouraged to be the voice of their peers, speak publicly, and to amplify and hold space for the voices of the marginalized. Through their participation, students will experience personal growth and the development and/or refinement of leadership skills in the following areas: communication; team building; self-esteem; problem solving and decision making; goal setting; event planning; conflict resolution; creative thinking; time management; community service; advertising/marketing; finance/accounting; and, in some cases, government procedures. Leadership students apply, interview, and are selected for a particular commission annually.
ASB and Class Council:
Students enrolled in ASB and Class Council have been elected by their peers. Students interested in this course will need to run for their desired position. ASB is in charge of all clubs and helps lead all class councils. Both ASB and class council elected for the following roles: president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer. Each class council works to build school spirit and to raise money that will go toward senior events. ASB and Class Council students have to apply and be elected into their position annually.
