Start of School 2025-2026

MORNING DROP-OFF ROUTINE & LOCATIONS

Morning drop-off can be very challenging and stressful due to the coinciding start time of Baywood Elementary next door and the overall number of vehicles dropping off students.

TO DECREASE TRAVEL TIME, CONGESTION, AND FRUSTRATION, DROP YOUR STUDENT OFF AT ANY OF THE DESIGNATED AREAS (STARRED) ALONG ALAMEDA DE LAS PULGAS (or the surrounding neighborhood) RATHER THAN PULLING INTO THE PARKING LOT OFF OF WOODLAND DRIVE.  Thank you!

WELCOME BACK, DONS!  WE CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU!

First Day of School  

Wednesday, August 13th for 9th graders and New/Transfer students, arrive at 8:15am:  "Orientation Part 2" 

  • All 9th graders and New/Transfer students are asked to meet in the classroom assigned to them on Orientation Day Part 1 (which was August 7th).  They will arrive on campus and meet their Link Crew Group in the assigned classroom at 8:30am. - PLEASE try to arrive early to avoid traffic and to be able to find the classroom!  We recommend arriving by 8:15am.
    • If a student forgets their classroom assignment, they will have their Link Crew Leaders' cell phone numbers and the Link Crew Group Chat from Orientation Part 1 to communicate and ask for help, and there will also be staff members walking around campus able to help and direct too!
    • If a student is unable to attend Orientation Part 1, their Link Crew Leader will reach out to them via the family's email or phone number; we will also have staff on campus walking around and able to assist.
  • 8:30 am - 9:55 am:  Orientation Part 2 Includes a tour of campus and the classrooms, as well as students picking up their school-issued Chromebook and learning how to use their school email address and our online systems. 

Wednesday, August 13th for ALL returning students. Arrive by 9:50 am!

ALL STUDENTS, new and returning, should be on campus by 9:50 am and in their 1st period classroom seat for instruction to start promptly at 9:55 am.  Please plan to arrive early to be on time and ready to start the school year strong!  The schedule for the first day is here.

 

August 14th and August 15th: We will follow a Period 1-7 day (with 0 period classes beginning at 7:25 am).

Jumpstart / Orientation  

Wednesday, August 6th, for Returning Students ONLY:  "Jumpstart": ID photos by appointment (9 am - 4 pm) at AHS Theater.  (See booking page here to make your appointment!)

Thursday, August 7th for 9th graders and New/Transfer students:  "Orientation Part 1" (8 am  - 1 pm) at the North Gym, and ID photos by appointment (1 pm - 4 pm) at the AHS Theater. (See booking page here to make your appointment.)
